So I think it’s priced a bit high for only having a 6 cylinder but damn it’s only one engine swap and some clean up away from greatness. He’s got extra wheels, the original interior available.
Reference of how they should look:
AHHHH
BLACK MAGIC

I would be really tempted to try and build that 200 I6, just to see what it could do.

And damn, that’s a good looking capri.

My uncle owned a fox-body mustang with that engine backed by an auto. There was nothing magic about it.

In other news I found this Mustang

That’s pretty high for a 3.3 car with some healthy rust.

It’s the special edition Black Magic though.

I don’t think you’d want me to RallyX that mustang though...
![]() 08/04/2016 at 15:56 |

Yeah, it’s overpriced because it’s the special edition. It’s probably only worth about 1200

Great now you got me thinking about it, haha
And the car would need to go down about a grand in price giving rust and overall condition with an I6 in it.

I remember thumbing through the dealer literature on those - of course, the bubble-back Capris were the best...

Better than letting it sit and rot

True that. It’s priced just slightly lower than my low mileage rust free ‘88 Thunderbird I’m trying to sell, and I already have a V8 and a 5 speed in mine.

Ugh.... 4.9 or nothing!

I would.

I doubt he’ll see it that way though.
Example, crappy paint job rusty 5.0 Mustang on CL

1100 is completely fair for the above, assuming it runs (though I’d offer 750) 2200 for the I6 Black Magic in that state is too much. if the original wheels and seats and everything were in/on it and looked good then I’d go for it.

I said it’s just an engine swap away! (5.0)

Ha, gotta do a lot to them to make them handle that, they’re unibody. so they’re harder to toy with.
The Montego is as well btw.

Wouldn’t that be a Camero engine then? People might get angry.
![]() 08/04/2016 at 16:12 |

Like I just said to S65 you have to do a ton to them to be able to play like that, biggest issue is unibody

People would definitely be angry if you went out of your way to use a chevy 305 for basically ANYTHING but mainly because it would mean picking a 305 over a 350.
And my reference V8 Black Magic has the 5.0 badge right on the side, take it up with Ford my friend

I read that as “black magicarp”
I...I’ve been playing too much Pokemon.

Just a bit, and besides there’s no such thing as a black magicarp!

Shows how much I know - I thought maybe it was some kind of special/rare one :P

I’m always amazed by how much better these look than the Mustang they’re based on. Easily my favorite Fox-body.
